CORPORATE VISION

The accumulating impacts on the global environment caused by man’s activities necessitate the introduction of environmental management from the earliest stages.

This responsibility to manage and minimise environmental impact is increasingly becoming more important in the industry and trade business. It is a responsibility recognised worldwide and is emphasised by international agreements, consumer activism and newly introduced legislation.

The vision of Enviroworks CC is to provide excellent, cutting edge environmental management solutions and services, formulated and backed by a team with associated network of professional environmental scientists and project managers.

COMPANY FOUNDATION

Enviroworks CC, a SMME company was established in November 2002. Although the formal company was established less than 7 years ago, it is backed by 25 years of professional service and experience in the environmental field. The qualifications and experience of the likeminded individuals of the company form the backbone of this successful venture.

We endeavour to commit ourselves beyond the call of duty to ensure excellent service.

Together as the Enviroworks team, we look forward to strengthening our relationship and growing our skills by helping and learning from one another. As a close-nit entity we look forward to imparting our skills and knowledge to our clients and in their projects.

WORK EXPERIENCE

1996:

Department of Minerals and Energy, Free State: Case Officer

Served as a listed Environmental Specialist with the Department of Minerals and Energy gaining an extensive knowledge of mining impact and attributing management mechanisms.
Expertise were developed in rehabilitation, monitoring, reviewing and approval of EMPR’s, field inspections, evaluating closure plans for mines, legal implications in the event of non-compliance, as well as slime dams and associated impact evaluation.
Project involvement was achieved through public participation processes, consultation phases, planning to incorporate environmental aspects, the evaluation of the environmental impact assessments, the compilation of conditions of approval and through the evaluation of the environmental management plans.

1997 – 2002:

Department of Tourism, Environment and Economic Affairs, Free State (DTEEA-FS): Case Officer

Worked as a Case Officer reviewing Environmental Impact Assessments
Development of department administrative processes & organizational structure
Interprovincial department liaison work
Streamlining of report review processes
Through ongoing dealings with Environmental Legislation, an intimate familiarization with the National Environment Management Act (Act 107 of 1998 “NEMA”) and NEMA EIA Regulations Government Notices 385, 386, 387 promulgated in terms of chapter 5 of NEMA, 1998 was achieved.

2002 - Today:

Director and Carbon Verifier at Enviroworks Consultancy, National

In 2002, Elbi established Enviroworks, an Environmental Consultancy based in Bloemfontein. Since this time, Enviroworks has expanded ten-fold and today operates nationally with offices in Bloemfontein, Cape Town and Knsyna. Extensive experience in the conducting of Environmental Impact Assessments, Risk Analysis, Auditing and Monitoring and Compiling of Environmental Management Plans. Through a wealth of industry knowledge gained by working in both the public and private sectors, Elbi followed a holistic, savvy approach to weave what is today a successful and diversified company.
